Jackie is a fully qualified piano tuner/technician and has been tuning and restoring pianos for nearly 20 years. She is also an accomplished pianist and has been teaching people to play the piano for over 20 years.
Jackie trained at the Leeds College of Music under Ken Forrest and Alistair Lawrence (of Lawrence and Nash Pianos) in England graduating in 1993. She worked for the highly regarded Hinves Pianos (formerly Pianissimo) in Spain throughout the 1990s specialising in the restoration of upright pianos and also tuning at music schools and conservatories across the south of Spain. She returned to the UK and has worked across the North of England having recently been involved in the revival of the British made Piano at Cavendish Pianos in North Yorkshire.
She has also taught piano lessons privately throughout this time teaching both children and adults.
Most domestic pianos need tuning twice a year. Pianos that have been regularly maintained should take around an hour and a half to tune. If your piano has not been tuned for some time it may take a little longer and may need tuning more than once to bring it up to pitch.
